Yesterday's perfectly coordinated rescue of the Maesk-Alabama's captain, finally gives this blog a reason to admire a decision by President Obama, who pre-authorized the use of deadly force and a rescue. Three pirates were killed, and a fourth (who was in the negotiations according to some reports), and now the world faces the larger question of what to do with international criminals. Larry Johnson discusses this at No Quarter, where he has posted a portion of his interview with AP over the rescue.
In the meanwhile, Capt. Phillips and the US Navy and Air Force SPECOP members are the heroes of the day, and President Obama made a good call.
